Belgian investors are welcome to engage in Ethiopia's pharmaceutical investment industry.
At an investment session hosted by the Ethiopian Embassy in Belgium, investors in Belgium were invited to join in the pharmaceutical investment industry in Ethiopia.
The conversation was held in a hybrid format, including both real and virtual participants.
Ambassador of Ethiopia to Belgium Hirut Zemene, Belgium's Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Ethiopia, Francois Dumont, CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation, Sadokan Debebe, Ethiopian Investment Commission Commissioner, Lelisse Nemi, and representatives from the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drug Administration attended.
Hirut Zemene, Ethiopia's ambassador to Belgium, and Francois Dumont, Belgium's ambassador to Ethiopia, gave opening comments.
Following that, the Ethiopian Embassy in Belgium showed a brief movie about the pharmaceutical investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
Dr. Fasika Mekete, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Health, discussed the need for Pharmaceutical Sector Development in Ethiopia as well as broad policy directions.
According to Sandokan Debebe, CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation, the company has established and developed 13 industrial parks around Ethiopia, adding significantly to Ethiopia's foreign exchange revenues. He went on to say that the Kilinto Industrial Park, which is currently being created and is ready to serve pharmaceutical businesses, has been prepared with investment and other incentives.
It was stated that the meeting was held to encourage potential pharmaceutical businesses from Belgium and the surrounding region to engage in Ethiopia's pharmaceutical sector.
