Mesob One-Stop Service Set to Launch in IPDC-Managed Special Economic Zones
The Mesob One-Stop Service is set to be launched within less than a month at the Special Economic Zones and industrial parks developed and administered by the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), Chief Executive Officer Fitsum Ketema has announced.
The announcement was made during a meeting between an IPDC delegation and the leadership of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia’s Mesob One-Stop Service to discuss preparations for launching the service at Bole Lemi Special Economic Zone.
Speaking at the meeting, Fitsum said the existing one-stop service arrangements in IPDC-managed investment hubs had not fully met investors’ needs for comprehensive investment-related services. He noted that the absence of sone relevant government institutions from the service centers had been a major challenge, limiting investors’ access to essential services in one location.
To address these gaps, IPDC has been consulting with the Mesob One-Stop Service and other relevant stakeholders to establish a more comprehensive and efficient service delivery system across its investment hubs.
The service is expected to improve access to government services for investors, employees working in the industrial parks and Special Economic Zones, and surrounding communities. Its introduction is also expected to help streamline administrative procedures and enhance the overall investment environment.
IPDC currently administers 14 Special Economic Zones and industrial parks across the country. More than 320 investors operate within its investment hubs, which have created employment opportunities for over 100,000 citizens.
Initiated under the vision of Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed, the Mesob One-Stop Service aims to enable citizens to access a wide range of government services through a single center, supported by a modern digital service delivery system.
The planned rollout of the service across IPDC-managed investment hubs marks a step toward strengthening investor support, improving public service delivery, and enhancing the operational environment for businesses in Ethiopia’s industrial parks and Special Economic Zones.
