ለአካባቢ ጥበቃ እና ለጥራት ትኩረት ተሰጥቶ የሚመረት ምርት በዓለም ዓቀፍ ገበያ ውስጥ ተፈላጊ መሆኑን የእንግሊዝ ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አንጄላ ሬይነር  ገለጹ፡፡ 

ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሯ ይህን የገለጹት ከኢንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች ልማት ኮርፖሬሽን ዋና ስራ አስፈጻሚ  ፍሰሃ ይታገሱ (ዶ/ር) ጋር በሐዋሳ ልዩ ኢኮኖሚ ዞን ተገናኝተው በመከሩበት ወቅት ነው፡፡ 

ኮርፖሬሽኑ የሚያስተዳድራቸው ልዩ ኢኮኖሚ ዞኖች ለአካባቢ ጥበቃ ስራ ከፍተኛ ትኩረት ሰጥተው እንደሚሰሩ ያብራሩት የኮርፖሬሽኑ ዋና ስራ አስፈጻሚ  በእያንዳንዱ ዞኖች ውስጥ ለአካባቢ ብክለት ምክንያት የሚሆኑ የፋብሪካ ፍሳሾችን የሚያጣሩ የፍሳሽ ማጣሪ ጣቢያዎች (Zero Liquid Discharge) ተገንብተው አገልግሎት እየሰጡ መሆኑን ጠቁመዋል፡፡
 
በእስያ የሰራተኞች ደሞዝ ከጊዜ ወደ ጊዜ እየጨመረ በመምጣቱ የአልባሳት እና ጨርቃጨርቅ አምራቾች የአፍሪካ ገበያን እዲያማትሩ እያስገደደ መሆኑን የጠቆሙት ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒሰትሯ ይህ ሁኔታ የፈጠረው መልካም አጋጣሚ ለኢትዮጵያ አልባሳት እና ጨርቃጨርቅ አምራቾች መልካም አጋጣሚ መሆኑን ጠቁመዋል፡፡ 

ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒትሯ ሀገራቸው የእንግሊዝ ገዥዎችን ከኢትዮጵያ አምራቾች ጋር ለማስተሳሰር ጥረት እያደረገች መሆኗንም ጨምረው ገልጸዋል፡፡

የልዩ ኢኮኖሚ ዞኑን የስራ አንቅስቃሴ ተዘዋወረው የተመለከቱት የእንግሊዝ ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አንጄላ ሬይነር  በኢትዮጵያ ያለውን የኢኮኖሚ እንቅስቃሴ ለማጠናከር በእንግሊዝ የሚኖሩ የኢትዮጵያ ዳያስፖራ አባላትን ከእንግሊዝ ባለሀብቶቸ ጋር በማስተሳሰር ሊሰራ የሚችልበትን አጋጣሚ ማየት እንደሚገባም አመላክተዋል፡፡ 

የአንዱስትሪ ፓርኮች ልማት ኮርፖሬሽን ዋና ስራ አስፈጻሚ  ፍሰሃ ይታገሱ (ዶ/ር) ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒትሯ ሀዋሳ ልዩ ኦኮኖሚ ዞንን የጎበኙት ኮርፖሬሽኑ በሚያስተዳድራቸው ልየ ኢኮኖሚ ዞኖች ውስጥ ያሉ አምራቾች የሚሰማሩባቸው የስራ መስኮች ከጨርቃጨርቅ እና አልባሳት ወደ ዘርፈ ብዙ ኢኮኖሚያዊ እንቅስቃሴዎች እየገቡ ባለበት ወቅተ መሆኑን አውስተው በዚህ ረገድ እንግሊዝ ከሚገኙ ኢትጵያውያን እና ትውልደ ኢትዮጵያውያን ጋር ሊሰራ ሚችልበት አግባብ ኮርፖሬሽኑ ለማጤን ዝግጁ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል፡፡

ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ዐብይ አህመድ ከእንግሊዝ ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር አንጄላ ሬይነር ጋር በሁለትዮሽ እና የባለብዙ ወገን ጉዳዮች ላይ ውጤታማ ውይይት ጠቁመው የምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሯ ጉብኝትም ይሄንን ግንኙነት የበለጠ እንደሚያጠናክር መግለጻቸው ይታወሳል። የሁለቱ ሃገራት  አጋርነት ከፖለቲካ እና ከዲፕሎማሲ በላይ በመስፋፋት ከፍተኛ የንግድ እና የኢኮኖሚ ትብብርን ይጨምራል ማለታቸው አይዘነጋም።

“There is a Market for Products Produced in an Environmentally Sustainable Manner that Champion Quality” – UK Deputy PM

In response to the growing concerns about environmental sustainability and quality assurance, UK Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Angela Rayner emphasized the importance of products being produced in an environmentally sustainable manner while upholding quality standards. She made these remarks during a meeting with the CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), Dr. Feseha Yetgesu, at the Hawassa Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

The CEO briefed the DPM on the corporation's efforts to promote eco-friendly industrial park development, highlighting that the Special Economic Zones administered by IPDC are equipped with state-of-the-art Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) waste treatment facilities. These measures demonstrate a commitment to environmental sustainability.

The DPM also noted ongoing efforts to connect UK buyers with Ethiopian garment and apparel producers. She pointed out that the rising labor costs in Asia are making garment and apparel products more expensive, prompting buyers to explore alternative sourcing options. “This presents a significant opportunity for Ethiopian garment and apparel producers,” she remarked.

During her visit to the Hawassa SEZ, the DPM toured the production facilities of Silver Spark Apparel Ethiopia Plc, where she underscored the importance of engaging the Ethiopian diaspora in the UK. She suggested tapping into equity funds to strengthen Ethiopia’s burgeoning economic activities.

In response, Dr. Feseha Yetgesu reiterated that the DPM’s visit aligns with IPDC’s ongoing efforts to diversify investments. He committed to finding ways to engage the Ethiopian diaspora in the UK and encourage investment within the SEZs managed by the corporation.

The UK DPM also held bilateral discussions with Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed. The Prime Minister expressed optimism that the DPM’s visit would strengthen the longstanding diplomatic relationship between the two countries, extending beyond political and diplomatic ties into more robust trade and economic cooperation.
